The fundamentals of both topics, Game Architecture and Game Design, form the content of the lecture. Beyond that an insight in processes and proceedings of the games industry is given.
The topics of the lecture contain the following thematic priorities:

  • Game Production and Project Engineering
  • Theoretical foundations of Game Design
  • Game Interface Design
  • Gameplay and Game Balance
  • Interactive Storytelling and Character Development

The lecture is accompanied by a weekly excercise (2-4 pm) There, you will apply the learnt knowledge by creating an original game within teams using the game engine Unity3D. The exercise is mandatory and teams will present their weekly progress in the exercise. Note, that the actual development of the game projects will happen outside of the exercise in your free time.
