Augmented Virtuality vs. Virtual Reality: Development of a Treadmill Exergame for a Motivating and Safe User Experience
Abstract
In this thesis a concept for a VR treadmill exercise will be developed and implemented. The main focus is on increasing the motivation of the runner and the question of whether and how the exercise experience can be improved and extended through VR experiences. Various playful scenarios and a suitable environment have to be developed and combined with an easy exercise program. The application will consist of two different modes. The first mode concentrates completely on the perception of the virtual world, while the second mode should also display important details of the real world in order to give the runner a better feeling about her/his current situation.
