Physical activity can improve cognitive performance. Especially, exergames offer a good possibility to motivate players to be physically active. However, the connection between physical activity and improved cognitive performance is only indirect because it is mediated by the level of arousal. "Arousal is the physiological and psychological state of being awoken or of sense organs stimulated to a point of perception". Arousal is not only triggered by physical activity, but also by the immersive effect of VR. Therefore, the goal of this bachelor thesis is to combine the advantage of exergames with the immersion of VR technology and thus to investigate the effect of a VR exergame on cognitive performance.
