Mixed Reality vs. Virtual Reality. The Impact of Real-World Objects on Player Experience in Exergames

This paper is about a Virtual Reality Exergame, which will be designed and implemented in different versions. The settings will differ in the possibilities of haptic perception of the game environment. There should be differences in the haptic properties of the game devices, with which the player will interact, and in the haptic feedback, which will be a result of player interactions. The player interactions should vary regarding the player’s expectation of a haptic feedback. The influence of the different versions on motivation, immersion, presence and fun will be examined in a study. Physical exertion will be also surveyed and compared.
