Abstract

Virtual reality has the effect of immersion, which can cause negative effects on the user spatial awareness. The user loses orientation in the virtual and real environment. A way to countereffect disorientation is with a visually design, giving the user visual cues, acting as landmarks or beacons, to help them orientate in the virtual and real environment. The question remains how to these visual cues effect the orientation with or without rotation of the virtual environment. To answer this question the VR Game “ExARcism” will be used in the experiments. The game will be visually modified and there will be two experiments: one with rotation and one without.
